Main Plot Idea

Please give your thoughts about this tentative plot. Every time something changes, I'll change this. Also, everyone on this site who wants to be a character helping this plot can! Right now, the plot is at the very beginning, where magical creatures don't fear for their lives. The plot is in purple.

The King and Queen of Dathyn (main evil people) are on a rampage to kill all magical creatures. His daughter, unbeknownst to him, met a sorcerer that works for the Resistance and didn't tell him. The Resistance (1) is a force with magical folk and humans alike that want this slaughter to end. Aurora and a few others (2) are the main heads of the Resistance. However, even though the King is burning innocent witches and other magical creatures, nothing really happens until a dragon is killed.(3) Brought down, this makes every single magical creature fear for its hiding.

The Fae King, worried for his people, decides to strike a bargain with the king: You stop killing the fae, and we'll help you defeat the rest of the magical creatures. The Fae Queen, who wants the Fae King's illegitimate child, Mia, to be heir to the throne, kills the Fae King. Then the King and Queen host a ball in celebration of winter and the magical creatures rebel in that very ball, attacking all the fine couriers. In the chaos, Sienna (the princess) and the sorcerer meet again, and she follows him, eventually joining the Resistance, as they keep her hostage (sort of). The Fae Queen finds her long-lost sister, Vas, in the King’s Dungeons and sets her free, enraged at the king.

Naimh decides to take the initiative and, posing as someone madly in love with the king, gets cozy with him. In doing this, she discovers several plots and foil them, saving many lives. However, this also makes the King suspicious and Naimh is persecuted. She lives, saved by the Resistance, but one of their number is killed.

In the east, another group is forming. They are like the Resistance, but do not have the same goals. They call themselves the Shadows Rising and are much more violent than the Resistance. They are lead by the King of Tree Spirits. They attempt to kill the king and instead wound many of his guard. This angers the Resistance and the two groups have an angry face off. In the shouting match, someone from the Shadows Rising spots the Princess of Dathyn. Thinking that the Princess is betraying them to the king, someone throws a dagger at her. Nicholai Legend throws himself in front of her and in the result, is badly wounded.

Meanwhile, the ghosts are debating whether or not to help the Resistance. Several prominent members of the Ghost Council say not to, for it is not their world (4) and because of this, the council is in strife.

The King takes advantage of this confusion and steals his daughter back, locking her up. The Dragon Queen comes and, seeing the man who killed a dragon, tries to kill him. Her left wing is gouged and the dragons declare war on the king and heedlessly attack him.

The unicorns enter the fray, determined to help the dragons, and one unicorn (5) is captured. However, the king wants to know what is going on and tortures the unicorn brutally. In the event, the ghosts ultimately decide to help the Resistance.

Shadows Rising is angered and the Tree Spirits try to sever the connection of the Other World to Dathyn. They nearly succeed and a very brave nymph gives her life up to reconnect the Other World. This enrages the ghosts and some of the good ones actually materialize into an army of indestructible ghosts. They storm down on Shadows Rising and kill/scare away many of the members.

Meanwhile, Rain Jisherby (a witch) is shocked at what has happened. Though it appears that she is in the Resistance, really she was in Shadows Rising. Actually, she was the mastermind behind it all, while the King of Tree Spirits was just her puppet. Enraged, she goes to find the head of the Resistance and kill her.

Aurora, unaware, uncovers why the king hates magical creatures so much.
